If the above are accompanied by genital pain, itching, pain with urination, vaginal and urethral discharge, and tenderness in the groin, as well as lesions that blister and then crust over. Healing generally takes place within two to three weeks, during which time the disease can be transmitted. If there is any sign that you have genital herpes, be careful not to pass it to your partner. Likewise, your partner should be careful if he or she is infected. Try to avoid having sexual intercourse when either of you has lesions. Your hands must be washed with soap and water after using the toilet or having sexual relations. Also, you may shower or bathe daily, keep lesions clean, dry and dusted with cornstarch. Wear cotton underpants and try to avoid wearing clothes that are constricting in the crotch area. |
