Top Tip:
Put the plug in, and fill the sink with a couple of centimetres of warm water. Sprinkle over a generous amount of bicarbonate of soda. Mix it just a little with your hand and then leave for about 5 minutes. Bicarbonate of Soda is a great cleaning product. It cuts through grease and dissolves dirt. When the 5 minutes are up dip a clean cloth in the bicarbonate of soda and water mix and rub around the sink area, then drain and rinse.
Out with the old:
Have a look at you cloths. If any are dirty, throw them away. They will only be spreading germs and dirt.
Get cleaning:
Fill the sink with cold water. Don't be tempted to use hot water as this will set the food and grease onto the crockery. Put some dirty items into the sink a few at a time. Add a generous squirt of washing up detergent. Scrub each item very well with a brush. Then leave on the draining board while you do the next items.
Rinse:
When you have washed all the items, drain the cold soapy water. Rinse each item off in very hot water and return to the draining board to dry off. Don't be tempted to use a tea towel for this, they will air dry just as quickly.
Pots and Pans:
For hard to clean pots and pans, fill with a little hot water and add a teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda. Leave for about 10 minutes while you do the other items. Then rinse and scrub with a brush. The grease and baked on food will easily wash away. Leave to dry as before.
Buff:
Once the items are dry buff them one at a time with a clean tea towel. This will make them shine and remove any water spots. |
