Traditionally long stemmed roses are the way to go on Valentine's Day. It may not be original but it will get results. Twelve blooms are the norm, so if you really want to make an impression go for 24. Or even more! Think carefully about the presentation. A hand-tied bouquet in coordinated wrappings will look so much better than a bunch held together with a rubber band and wrapped in cellophane. Where to send them: Arrange to have the flowers sent to your love's home only if you are sure she is going to be in, otherwise it will be a wasted effort. Alternatively send them to your amore's workplace, this has the wow factor of letting everybody know how you feel and gives a romantic taster of things to come. Only do this if you are really confident your flowers will impress. Sending a sorry looking bunch of carnations might do you more harm than good. If you are meeting for a date you could present the flowers personally, this will give you benefit of an immediate reaction. The card: Always make sure you compose a personal note on the card. Even if you are sending the flowers anonymously, leave a clue about who they could be from. The card is the part that drives the message home, making your intentions clear and setting the tone of your relationship, be it humorous, romantic, passionate - or even all three.
